Ultimate Hunk Aljur Abrenica nominated for Most Promising Male Star at the GMMSFI awards

PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had a chance to interview Starstruck Ultimate Hunk, Aljur Abrenica, at Bellisimo, Tomas Morato last March 27.

Aljur was nominated the Most Promising Male Star by Gulliermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Inc. The young actor admits that he doesn't know much about the awarding, so he researched about it, and realized that being nominated is such a big thing.

"Ang masasabi ko lang, napaka-thankful ko sa binibigay sa 'kin ni Lord. Kasi sunud-sunod yung blessings, e. Wala talaga 'ko masabi, and salamat. Salamat sa mga nagdesisyon."

Aljur can be seen in the noontime TV series of GMA-7, Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? opposite fellow Starstruck winner Kris Bernal. The show, now on it's 4^th week, is becoming more and more exciting according to Aljur.

"May mga scenes na dapat abangan. May ginagawa ako na napakahirap na scene dun. Kailangan nyo mapanood.

"Isa yun sa pinaka-highlight nung storya. Ito yung... Kung napanood nyo yung movie ni Sharon [Cuneta] and Gabby [Concepcion]. Dito yung galing yung sikat na linya na, 'Aalis ka ba dyan? O ihahampas ko sa 'yo 'tong gamit mo palabas?'" tells Aljur.

The actor admits he has no more time for things he usually does before--playing basketball and playing DOTA (an online game), because of his very busy schedule doing SOP and Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?.

LOVE LIFE. Speaking of his busy schedule, how about his love life? Does he still have time for that?

"Sa love life.. Hmmm... Wala naman ako problema kasi lagi ko kasama si Kris, e," admits the young star.

Are they officially dating?

"Sa taping [laughs]. Oo, totoo."

According to the young actor, he even spends some of his free time at Kris's house.

"Hindi niya alam na pupunta 'ko. Kaya minsan, dinadatnan ko siya dun na wala. Kasi ano.. Lagi na lang kami magkasama sa tapings, sa work. Ayun, gusto ko naman minsan sinu-surprise ko siya na unexpected talaga. Kaya minsan, yung chocolates, kinakain ko na lang pag wala siya [laughs]."

PLANS FOR THE HOLY WEEK. When PEP asked Aljur if he and Kris are going to spend time together this coming Holy Week, he told us that they both have different plans with their family.

"Nag-plan ako na sana... Gusto ko lang dalhin yung mga kapatid ko sa Disney Land, e. Sa bagay, hindi pa din naman ako nakakarating dun. Pero baka magba-Batangas City na lang kami."

Aljur is the eldest of four siblings, three boys and a girl.

Is he close to all three?

"Oo. Weakness ko 'yan, e. Mga kapatid ko. Weakness ko 'yan. Kuripot kasi ako. Hindi ako bumibilli ng para sa 'kin. Pero pagdating ng para sa kanila, ginagastusan ko talaga. Pag may gusto sila, hindi ko kinakain, binibili ko agad."
